Just wear some water shoes, get out at the Cozumeleno beach, and walk back to the Playa Azul following the coastline.

The snorkeling between the Playa Azul and the Cozumeleno to the north is an easy drift with the current, but don't get too far from shore and don't try to swim back (the current can be stronger than you realize). After a trip into town and around the island, we decided to spend most of our time at the little beach right in front of the Playa Azul.

Roberto at the front desk quickly found us a new room when we reported a noisy AC in our initial room, and Guadalupe was always quick with a cheery smile and hot coffee at the breakfast buffet. What a wonderful piece of old school charm away from the hustle and bustle in San Miguel which can be over run by cruise ship passengers. I’d definitely be back to visit the hotel it was absolutely wonderful !! Water activities right next door for rental jet skis boats scuba diving etc. booked a rental car onsite which was delightful and easy.

Staff around the hotel was nice I never met anyone who was rude or discourtesy. The buffet was very fulfilling and each morning had different items along with omelet station ! Outdoor bars, two pools (both kid friendly in depth) and small play scape area. Buffet Breakfast is included with the stay and there is an all inclusive package available. Beach was wonderful access from first floor about 50-75 feet from the pool. I could feel the air coming from under the door when I first arrived ! Love the milt plug outlet hood for multiple devices. Small fridge in room for use, wasn’t sure if the water was comp or for purchase we did use them. Toilet backed up once again issue quickly resolved. L! Also got a side view of the pool (3ft in depth) no issue with the room initially but later in stay hot water was lost but quickly restored with a phone call to front desk. Stayed in 301 jacuzzi suite was beautiful ocean front. Check in was smooth and quick… working elevator. Getting to hotel was easy via taxi which are plentiful at airport 22$ a ride. great for snorkelers Visited from Sunday -Wednesday very light crowd Hotel … no partying or loud guest encountered. Hotels near The Original Mexican Cuisine Cooking Class at Playa Miaįamily Friendly Swimmable beach with an absolutely stunning evening sun set. There is an outfit called Derp Blue that is much more accommodating to those that already have skills and don’t want to be treated like a first time diver. NOPE she wanted to charge us and waste our time doing “check out dives”. I told Paola we had dove with dive Palancar in the past and within the last year so she had our certs. This is an amateur outfit run out of a trailer and tent next to the Sunscape Sabor.

Of course the two check out dives were at full price at our expense and wasting 1/2 a day to get her “approval”. I didn’t fly over 2500 miles to start as a beginner again having to prove I could dive. This time however we wanted to dive the wreck and “Paola” said we needed to do two morning check out dives and if we showed proficiency we could dive the wreck in the afternoon. Have used this company a few times in the past without problems. Have been diving 40 years on all levels including technical, instructor, wreck, full cave and CCR with over 6,000 dives. Not sure if something has changed or just not worried since they are fully booked. I have been with them in the past with no issue. I met multiple people who did dive with them and then switched to Dive Palancar and were more pleased. Not sure why since they were losing people to Dive Palancar. I did speak to the other dive outfit (not to be named) that has a shop at the end of Sabor and a kiosk at the other end of Secrets. Some of the other divers who had issues and couldn't complete a dive were given refunds. Over the week there were a few issues they had to handle and did so quickly so as to not effect the remainder of the dive. Divemaster's were helpful and very knowledgeable. Being a divemaster, I prefer to setup my gear myself.īoat captain and mate were right there when anyone needed assistance. Took care of my equipment every day and were even willing to set up everything for me on the boat. Did 12 dives with them and had no problems.
